Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV)

From the 1st January 2009, it is now mandatory for individual licensees and/or approved managers to undertake the Responsible Management of Licensed Venues course. It is acting within the Liquor Act 1992 and Liquor Regulations 2002 by managing a licensed venue in a reasonable fashion, looking after your customers and being aware of your obligations the rights of your neighbour and the general community to remain undisturbed by your business.
RAM Training Services runs the 2-day non-accredited OLGR approved RMLV course on a monthly basis. We offer the training on the Gold Coast, Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast. We can also deliver at your premises for group bookings, anywhere throughout Queensland.

All licensees, nominees and approved managers are required to complete this course, according to Queensland legislation. Approved Managers are no longer required to hold a separate Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, as an RMLV certificate is considered as covering this training.
The RMLV certificate is mandatory for anyone who wishes to apply for a Queensland Approved Manager (Liquor) Licence.

The RMLV course covers important information for running a venue such as:
- How to comply with the legislative laws and regulations for the business
- Strategies to ensure responsible management of a licensed venue
- The effects of alcohol & drugs on the body and how to identify these affects early
- How to appropriately deal with emergencies and the types of emergencies you see when dealing with liquor
- Understanding trading conditions
- Monitoring noise levels
- Creating strong relationships with key people in the liquor and hospitality industry
The fee for this course is $395.

There are no pre-requisites, however it is recommended that you will have a grade 10, or equivalent, level of English reading and writing.
